The development of the new neighborhoods in Chessy is accompanied by the creation of stormwater management structures designed to retain and regulate runoff. The landscape design aims to transform this technical basin into a true natural space, reconciling hydraulic functions, biodiversity, and uses. The development thus promotes the emergence of a wetland ecosystem conducive to the development of fauna and flora, complementing the surrounding wooded areas.
To showcase the site’s scenic qualities while integrating the hydraulic infrastructure, two viewpoints have been created to the north and south of the basin. These contemplative spaces offer privileged views of the wetlands and surrounding landscapes. A boardwalk and a low promenade overlooking the reedbeds and wet meadows invite visitors to immerse themselves in the heart of this ecosystem. A path accessible to people with reduced mobility follows the natural slope of the land and provides direct access to the boardwalk, ensuring that everyone can discover and appreciate these new water landscapes.
